MEC, Masri Engineering & Contracting

Working on these projects was a pleasure. I learned many skills within the contracting industry. I was the link between the sub-contracting architectural firms, the MEP (Mechanical, Electric, Plumbing) firms, and my company’s managing office. My role varied within different phases of each project:

  • I would coordinate between the architectural firms, who would supply technical drawings, and my company’s team of engineers, by translating their documents into:

a. BOQs (Bill Of Quantity) used by the procurement manager and the site engineers.

b. Schedules referenced in the BOQs with attached plans in detail, to be used during the construction process.

b. 3D, and 2D presentations, presented during in house meetings to discuss the projects, and explain shop drawing details to the team.

  • Progress reports to the managing office from the different project sites.

  • Conduct meetings with district officials to submit all documents according to building law code within the architectural permits, fire, and safety in the common sectors of completed projects.

  • Create 2D, and 3D rendered plans for the projects to be presented on the companies website.

  • Maintaining a healthy relationship with residents and clients in some of the finished buildings by applying customized designs made by interior designers.

  • Site Engineer, conducting maintenance work on incomplete buildings that did not have an established board.

The experience gained in this company has been imperative to my progress as an architect. The importance of working in a team has structured my work flow and made me better at what I do.
